Felicia Beardsley is Professor of Anthropology and Director of the University Museum at University of La Verne in California. She is a Pacific Island archaeologist who specializes in stone architecture, ancient technologies, and heritage conservation. She has organized museum archives in the Pacific, written heritage conservation policies, and co-authored the world heritage nomination for Nan Madol, Pohnpei. For the Micronesians, Beardsley is a woman who knows how to see, who can wield a machete like a man, and most importantly, who is not afraid of ghosts. On Kosrae, she has even been given the title of ‘fine gentleman’.
